plant and animal, whatever you can think of. also where do you live?i get your point but i mean other than humans
Pytanie #2:
Question about hunting?
In my state the whitetail deer population is estimated to have tripled in number since before Caucasian settlement to now. All due to deforestation causing rapid uncontrolled growth of underbrush and widespread agriculture providing a food source for deer seasonally. important word, seasonally. Because agriculture is a seasonal food source, without state regulated hunting, approximately half the deer population would die over our harsh winters to due starvation, or hypothermia being exposed to the elements while searching for food that isn't there. My question is, would you rather so those animals killed in a relatively quick manner which provides affordable food for hundreds of thousands of state residents and provides money to the department of natural resources, which uses that money to fund wildlife management programs and classes regarding many aspects of outdoor recreation. OR would you rather see those animals starve and freeze to death and eliminate both a staple food for my state residents and the majority of funding for management of these animals' habitat?forgot to mention, nearly all natural predators of the whitetail have been eliminate from the state for decades. and deer collisions are a leading cause of human death in car accidents.
Pytanie #3:
Can someone please interpret this dream- My rat, Harlo, told me he doesn't like my cat, Moe?
I remember I was sitting on the ground and my rat was sitting facing me. He was telling me how he doesn't like my cat. In real life though, my animals don't really interact. Moe can go freely from inside the house to outside and Harlo is usually in his cage(sometimes we let him walk around). What do you think of this dream? Thanks!Pytanie #4:
Minumum tank size for a goldfish...?
I have a betta in a 5 gallon (his old 10 gallon tank shattered), but anyway, this betta is my first fish. Now, i've gone fish crazy, for only tropical since salt water tanks seem so hard to maintain.
I wanted a goldfish called a black moor, since I first saw one when I lived in the hospital. He was so cute.
I've read they needed 30gallon tanks, or bowls, or they belong in the wild, or 55g tanks, or they belong in tanks, and all other things.
But, For a black moor, considering he'd spend his entire life in the tank i'd buy, what size could he live in?
I'm wanting for someone to also tell me the smaller species of goldfish, who reach to a length of LESS THAN 12 inches in their life-span, since, I dont have a pond. What size tanks would they need?
Oh, and what other fish or aquatic animals could they be housed with?
I'd never put a goldfish in a bowl, but thats just what i've read online. xD
They say such weird things online
Pytanie #5:
Vegans/Vegetarians only, is it cruel to kill an animal under these circumstances ?
it is unsuspecting of harm and will be killed instantly via head/spinal trauma for human consumption.i'm not asking about the previous treatment of the animal and i'm not comparing killing animal to murder. For the reason of consumption of that animal only, is it in any way cruel or malicious to kill it in an instant fashion. very simple question.
Pytanie #6:
what do you consider torture?
i see this word thrown around a lot when people explain why they don't eat animals. i figure i may have a different definition, but i'm not a vegetarian. be specific about what practices of farming/hunting/etc you consider torture.not trying to start a debate, just getting opinions
Pytanie #7:
Why is adopting from shelters so hard?
I can't stand when people ignorantly preach to adopt an animal from a shelter, only because they seem to forget that it isn't such an easy process for everyone. When I went to the local shelter the staff was overall very rude and unhelpful, treating me and my family like dirt because we did not have all of the paperwork of vet records for our past pets. They us gave several forms to fill out and took one look at our income and gave us this look as if to say why even waste their time. The process seemed so intimidating and they seemed to have zero faith in us, so we've decided to buy from a pet shop instead.I understand that shelters are only looking out for what's best for their animals, and the precautions they take are solely for the safety and well-being of an already abandoned animal, but our experience with adoption so far has been pretty cold and now we're definitely feeling inadequate compared to their apparently strict, mile-high standards. I hate being guilted for not adopting a dog and saving a life when honestly they didn't seem to want our help in the first place. It's so frustrating and I'm beginning to feel disillusioned with the whole subject. Why should I get treated like doggie-doo for trying to give an abandoned animal a family, when I can by a puppy from a pet shop with virtually no hassle?
I probably sound like a terrible person, but please, I'm looking for genuine answers here. I just don't understand why adoption has become so harrowing these days, and it really is a shame.
Okay, I definitely worded this wrong. I never meant to come off as a complete douche, so let me rephrase a few things.
I never said I was against adoption, just that I've been disappointed with how hard it has been. No, it isn't mature to base all shelters on one experience. I'm more or less afraid of being treated like an annoyance because of how inexperienced I am with adoption.
And to be honest, no, all of the pets I have ever owned were never of my own buying. Most of the animals I've had have been from either friends or family who couldn't/didn't want to take care of them for various reasons.
I'm sorry to those who I've offended in any way; I'm going to give adoption another chance. Buying a puppy from some puppymill supplied store wouldn't just be wrong, it would be spiteful, and at an innocent dog's expense. I'm going to try again at a different shelter, do my best to cooperate, and pray for the best.
Thank you.
Pytanie #8:
Christians: Prove to me God doesn't lie?
Now that I got your attention... Can you prove to me Noah's ark is a true story? Don't bother answering if you aren't going to read it all.1) There is no geological proof.
2) You mean to tell me a 600 year old man travelled thousands of miles to unknown lands on his
own, and brought back with him millions of animals?
3) It rained for 40 days and 40 nights, flooding the entire world? Well when salt water mixes with fresh water, it becomes toxic to sea creatures.
4)Each animal has it's own specific diet. What did they eat? What about the meat eaters? Are you saying they ate the dinosaurs then and made them extinct?
5) What about all the waste? All that poo from millions of animals everyday. Being flung out of a single window on the ark?
6) don't even get me started about termites.
7) How did all these animals survive without out their own habitat? Polar bears lived in the same conditions as African lions?
8) How did these animals make it back around the world? I wasn't aware beavers can swim across entire oceans.
So basically:
-All the fish in the seas and lakes are dead.
-You have millions upon millions of animals living in a confined space, starving.
-Even if they did eat "with the magic of God", well there must be a whole lot of crap buried somewhere in the middle east.
Oh what's that Christians? Are you saying that the story of Noah's ark is not true? The most holy book in the UNIVERSE, supposedly written by the spirit of GOD contains things that aren't true?
Oh silly me... trying to mix common sense with religion

Are you freaking crazy?
Does your CAT scan crap in the floor? When you forget to take your Meds, does the Army show up to remind you? Has a traffic cop ever asked you to submit to an I.Q. test? Do the voices in your head sing show tunes? Ever lock yourself out the house because you feel you're a threat to yourself? Ever decide a stuffed animal is god? Ever put salt on a snow cone to give your tongue more traction? Is your water bed filled with soup in case you get hungry during the night? Do you put questions in the wrong category?Pytanie #10:

If humans are supposed to be herbivores?
than why can we fully digest meat and animal fat? the size of canine teeth explanation doesn't make much sense when you take that into consideration, especially since our species doesn't have a history of fighting or killing prey with biting. how else do vegetarians explain their point of view on the matter?Pytanie #13:
Corn Snake or Hedge Hog?
Ok so I'm in to animals.Especially marine(have 7 aquariums :) plan to be marine biologist).I had a corn snake and a rat (rat died ,corn snake escaped :( )i get these animals becuz my cats are more or less solitary ,I'm not a dog person, and I can't hold fish :/.So i was wondering if i should get another corn snake or a hedge hog.I like corn snakes becuz they pretty cool :) and I'm in to reptiles.BUT i also know that corn snakes don't really "know" know their care taker. And i want a hedge hog and I've done my research on them and i heard they're kinda play full but if any of you know if that's not true please tell.So which one should i get?Pytanie #14:
Harvest Moon Animal Parade?
I need your opinion. In the beginning of the game would you focus on giving gifts to other people like bachelorettes (considering im playing as a girl) so you can have hearts to do the bells and so your closer to having the rival events, OR focus more on the one you want to marry in the game and instead of wasting money to buy gifts for other people you save the money. and so that you can sell the things you pick off the ground (like seashells, berries, etc) for money instead of giving it to them. I dont really care when I get the purple bell done or the rival events done. So the choices are:1. Give gifts to a lot of people in the beginnig of the game.
2. Give gifts to the one you want to marry and only them (but i will still occasionally give gifts to other people)
p.s. when i say beginning of the game, i mean like the first spring, summer, and fall.
thank you so much in advance(:

Pytanie #18:
Biological Basis for Morality?
I've heard there are four parts to it, but I can only remember three. Can anyone help me expand on these (or critique them) and/or help me remember the fourth or any more than that? Or if I've fused them/don't need more than these?1) Genes that survive proliferate. The will to survive is pretty beneficial for survival, so that's the basic "self-serving" gene.
2) Then, because we pass on our genes to our children, a gene that urges us to help our children survive also proliferates.
3) As for charity towards people we don't know, the earliest form (observable in many animals and to an extent us) is a display of dominance--"I can afford to give my stuff away and ask for nothing in return." In modern society, truly selfless giving has been seen as beneficial, and makes people like (be attracted to) you, and as such that gene survives as well.
Reciprocal altruism, that was it! Thank you. And I had forgotten about prisoner's dilemma, thanks :P.
Pytanie #19:
Kids are mean to the dog?
A week ago my husband brought home the sweetest little pug in the entire world. She instantly became a part of the family and she goes everywhere with us that she is allowed to go.I didn't think it would be much of an issue, but my step-sons (especially the oldest one) aren't treating her so nicely. My niece, who is also 4, has a pitbull puppy that she uses as a punching bag on a daily basis. It really disgusted me that my SIL and her boyfriend don't see a problem with it and the dog gets punished when it fights back. Can't say I blame the poor thing and I don't feel bad for anyone who abuses a dog and gets a chunk ripped out, child or not. They should know better at that age.
Anyways, because my niece thinks it's okay to treat her dog like this, she tried hitting and pouncing on ours a few times. She, of course, got corrected, but now my step-sons are following suit. They think it's okay to drag her around, throw her off the couch, and smack her when she does something they don't like (when she really isn't do anything besides seeking attention). I've told them over and over again that they can't treat animals like that, but it doesn't seem to sink in. All they keep saying is, "It's my dog." I've told them she's mine since I am the only one who seems to treat her nicely. My husband likes her, but also says she's highly annoying. He's the one that brought her home, not me.
What kind of punishment is suitable for these actions?
My husband is backing me up on this, but everytime we punish these boys for misbehaving in some way they run to their mom and tell her we are abusing them. Of course there are more issues going on and we believe their mother is at fault. She is pretty much brainwashing them and says that we are horrible people and daddy doesn't love them, etc. We've been working with a social worker to solve these issues, but nothing seems to work. It's sad because they are young, but they should know by now that this behavior is unacceptable. I think I'm going to take everyone's advice and give them some firm discipline for this. If their mother says anything about it then I guess I'll tell her to shove off for once. Sad to say, I'd rather move out of the home that give up this dog.

how can i get my neighbors and family to pay me for taking care of their pets?
i just started college, im 17 and it's very hard to find work because people want to hire 18 year old's. I am really good with pets and animals and I devised a flyer with prices for grooming, walking, feeding, and all of that but i haven't distributed the flyers because i am afraid that it was a wasted effort and i will look like a fool! i need money for my college expenses and my prices arent expensive. Grooming is 20 (which includes washing cutting hair drying), walking is 8, feeding is 7, and thats all i can think of for right now. do any of you have suggestions on what i should do?thanks!

Pytanie #22:
What kind of Ball Python morph is this?
Please do not tell me they are normal because I KNOW they are not. The picture doesn't do the animals justice, the first is very light yellow with an extremely reduced pattern and a light spot on the back of his head and a clear belly (meaning no pattern). The second one has almost a full stripe down his back, a black line lining his belly which looks to be pretty clear and a brown head with no side head markings and a very interesting pattern. My friends company imports baby balls from Africa and we don't get normals in only morphs, we're just not sure what these two are, we think the first one is a fire but they are very variable.Click Here

again they are NOT normal, I know this for a fact.
By the way the reason we think the first is a fire is because of the description and pictures on NERDs (New England Reptile Distributors) site, everything matches up.
I didn't say we purchased them cheap, we purchased a bunch of morphs through our contact in Africa, he sent us his own collection of morphs, which is how I know they are not normal, these are not wild caught. The reason we're not sure what they are is because the importer never told us, just sent us a bunch of morphs he knew we would like and these 2 happen to be 2 of them, the others were Tigers, Enchis, Womas, Granites, Yellow Bellys, Black Pastels that we can tell the differences of, these 2 were very different from the rest. We plan on keeping both ball pythons back and breeding them to normals, but I was just interested if anyone experienced with importing or breeding a lot of ball pythons might know the morphs rather then myself and my friend comparing to thousands of pictures.
Ok clearly this was the wrong place to ask.
As for asking NERD, we already did and they told us they are both some type of morph and to breed them out and once we get babies they might take a few. So thanks everyone but I know they are not normal.
and normals are nice, we have a bunch of adult normals and a few babies as well, we see a lot of them, the importer also sees a lot of them and can tell the difference very easily between something that is normal and a morph, so thank you but I have to say you are all wrong.
My friend asked NERD and I didn't find out about this until after I posted this, and I never said it was a new morph, if it was new why would I bother asking on here?
Here's what no one is understanding... we purchased these snakes from our contact in Africa who bred them, he ONLY sent us morphs, he breeds and catches ball pythons, he can very easily tell the difference between what a normal looks like and what a morph is. I respect what you all have to say but as I stated originally, they are not normal.

Gift for best friend's birthday?
It's my best friend's birthday in a little over a month, and i really have no idea what to get her, like i know what she's interested in i just can't find the right gift. Do I have to worry about this? Emergency?
So, I was riding my horse in my front field, then all the sudden this large beastly dog comes tearing around the house and across the yard. When it got up close, I realized it wasn't a dog.....but...
a BEAR.
Oh my god, I almost pissed my pants.
As it explored our trash cans, I calmly trotted my horse back to the barn. The other horses were already in their stalls, I was going to turn them out when I got done riding, so I put my horse in her stall. I've never had to deal with bears before, because they normally stay on the mountain, and never come this far down (I have 4 (10 - 15 acre) horse properties in between me and the mountain). Do I need to worry about my horses and the bear? Or can I go turn them out? They're all content napping in the cool barn with lots of hay, so they don't mind either way. The bear is still hanging out in the brush across the street from my field, so I'm not sure if he would get curious with the horses or not.
Also, do you think I should call animal control? My grandad, who's some crazy zoologist/wildlife guy, says they probably won't do anything because I live so close to the mountain. But, the bear is on our school bus path.........
They're all mine in some way, shape or form. So I don't have to worry about pissing off owners because I turned them out when a bear was around.
So I called my states wildlife department/animal control and they said "We can't do anything, and there's no point of reporting it". And the lady who I talked with was a B!OTCH.
Great, so I may not have to worry about my horses, but what about my ducks/chickens/fowl!? ARG, gotta love living here.
It was the Wildlife Game & Fishing, but also the animal violation hotline.

Pytanie #31:
Do you believe in the paranormal? How about undiscovered creatures/animals?
Sounds far fetched, I know. By undiscovered creatures/animals, I'm referring to legends, like bigfoot. So I'll use him as an example.I'm not saying he exists, but I'm also not saying it's impossible. I mean aren't genetic mutations possible? In fact, a genetic mutation is responsible for blue eyes. It is scientifically proven that all people used to have brown eyes a few thousand years ago. And yet someone was born with blue. If you want all the scientific facts, look it up. It's pretty cool.
Another reason why it is not impossible, is that there are so many unexplored parts of the world. Cave systems, the bottom of the ocean, and alot of antarctica. Also there are the places that aren't inhabited, such as deserts, vast forests, swamps, and some mountains. I mean even in New Jersey, there is a vast forest the size of Rhode Island that ANYTHING could hide in undiscovered. Or in Florida, there is a dangerous swamp that stretches on for miles. As a matter of fact, there are new species discovered every year. So what's to say there are some crazy ones we haven't discovered yet?
And as for the paranormal, there isn't much science I can use to back it up. It's all a matter of perspective. Again, I'm not saying it exists, but it isn't entirely impossible. If there's frequencies not perceptable to the human ear, then can't there be things that we can't really see?
I want to hear your opinions(: Please don't just say "no it doesn't exist." Actually put thought into it, use facts to state your opinion.
Thank you.

I took in a cat for a friend because it wasn't getting along with the other household animals...?
...but the cat is destroying my walls and trim. They are beautiful & was very expensive to have done, I have tried all types of things to get this cat to stop scratching them and pulling at the carpet. I bought 2 scratch poles and built a tri-level thing (& carpeted every inch of it) for the cat to jump/lay on but it will only jump on the leather furniture and wood tables. I know alot of people think de-clawing is horrible, but this seems to be the only option, short of having it put down. What should I do?Thanks Julie.
Joan of Arc, done that to no end...he just runs away & comes right back doing it again...seems out of spite!
Others, all due respect but de-clawing is legal in most countries & and the USA. Just because it's illegal in one country, it doesn't mean it right to others. It's ok in the Arabic world to beat a woman because she's talking to someone outside of her family...so should other countries follow? Just making a point.
Aleasha, thank you also.

What do you think when you see pictures women in flood devastated Pakistan clutching shawls about their heads?
Does it strike you as a little odd? I mean, here are these poor women whose homes have been destroyed, some have lost children - they’re freakin lives have just been turned upside down, yet they’re still clutching shawls about their heads! And I’ve noticed that when they’re jostling with other people to get food handouts that have been thrown on the ground and their shawls come loose just for a second, they get this panicked look in their eyes and they look around frightened until they adjust their shawls. They know that if they are seen in public with their hair showing, they’ll get called a whore or they’ll get whipped by men. Even in a situation where they have to fight like animals to get food that has been thrown on the ground, they’re still trying to conform to their primitive Islamic cultural morals. Does this make you sad and make you think, “Man, these people have such a long way to go”?Pytanie #37:

Are you like me? Trouble understanding abstract concepts?
I mean for example when people say stuff like "You can't handle me" or "I'm not myself today" or "I feel like I lost myself". I can't make sense of them. I know people say that stuff when they are upset and they need comforting, but what I don't get is how can you lose yourself? How are people "handled", they are not animals, they don't need handling. And if you are not yourself, who are you? I don't understand the sense of these sayings at all.Do you ever experience this?

So.... Why exactly are guys easier to get into bed than girls?
Don't try telling me it's a social construct... because in nature, most male animals are always ready to bust a nut... but they have to do complex mating rituals just to attract the females. If a clean looking girl went up to random guys on the street, the majority of males would do her in a second. If a Guy did the same thing to girls, some might say yes, but the majority would reject him. And yes, i realize that there are some nasty club rat girls that are easy lay's, but they do not represent the majority of females.Pytanie #42:
Do animals believe in God?
I was wondering how many people believe that animals, although they do not have 'religion' believe in God?Our dog seems to know... when I play hymns and praise music on my piano, she comes into the room and dances around and plays, when I play other music, she either growls at me until I stop playing or lays down, giving me evils. She also dislikes any digital music, such as radio or music from the computer, unless it is Christian, praise music...
I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this...
Steve H
I play many different types of Christian music, about half of it is louder and fast paced, and about half of the 'pop' music I play is louder and fast paced.
The music I like is similar, in both categories, but our dog can tell the difference and enjoys the Christian music.
BEATT
My dog is a greyhound, she cannot be trained...
We have just about managed to get her to understand the commands 'get on your mat' and 'come here', and that has taken nearly 5 years.
Justin,
We hardly ever sing along when I play the piano, cos Im not really very good (never had any lessons) and she still likes it. I get put off when people try to sing along...

Does the Quran encourage violence and killing?
Sura (5:33) - The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement.Sura (8:12) – I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them
Sura (8:55) - Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve
Sura (9:30) - And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah... Allah (Himself) fights against them. How perverse are they!
Sura (9:123) – O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness
Sura (48:29) - Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves

Easily frightened Greyhound?
I recently adopted a three year old female Greyhound from an animal shelter. Her previous owner fell ill, which is why she abandoned this Greyhound as well as another Greyhound and a Whippet. The adoption counselor explained that she (the Greyhound) had come from a loving home with no record of abuse or mistreatment. However, she is scared - terrified - of almost everything. At first, I put it down to anxiety about the upheaval of suddenly being in a new home with a new owner and without her companions (the other two dogs) but she has been with me for several months now. I'm beginning to think she may have been abused - she flinches and cowers when men approach her, and even if women approach her too quickly she begins to tremble and cower. Her tail is almost constantly tucked between her legs in fear except when she is sleeping next to me or alone on a walk with me in an isolated area. I have tried giving her treats when she does not immediately bow her head and tremble when confronted with a new person, a television, radio, etc but it doesn't seem to improve.Someone suggested adopting a companion for her since she might be lonely after the loss of her two previous companions. Perhaps a stable dog would help her overcome some of her fears? I am only away from her 2-3 hours per day, and during that time she is in the care of my brother (who she is very slowly learning not to be terrified of..although she is still very wary around him). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to help her overcome her fear issues?

the killer whale that died???????
For starters I don't agree with keeping them locked up in Sea World. But that young whale that died today, it was 12.. they ruled out any diseases or symptoms of a disease and said he hasn't had any sickness the whole time he was there and now all the sudden he dies and it's not from being locked up cause why after being there all his life would he only now die from being raised in that tank?
And I know they are gonna to the autopsy thing and figure out how he died so mysteriously but i'm a little bothered that maybe cause that killer whale killed that lady recently, that someone intentionally might have poisoned or done something to this baby whale to kill it and even though its been awhile since that womans death that they did it only when they got the chance, i'm only asking cause I remember awhile ago a shark attacked a kid and people went out and killed a bunch of sharks cause of it, and when Steve Irwin Passed away cause the sting ray they found a BUNCH of dead stingrays with their tails cut off (theres other stories of this too those are just a couple) it seems when an animal kills a human a bunch of sick freaks go out and take it out on whatever it was that killed someone which makes me sick so im wondering if that could be a possibility that only now someone got the chance to kill him? Im just wondering opinions please no rude answers I just feel so terrible for him, and no rants about how they shouldnt be closed up in there. I know that already.. thank you for reading.

What makes a dog "man's best friend"?
What is the difference between a domestic animal and an exotic animal that makes a dog man's best friend and a Bangladesh tiger a potential traitor? Dogs are always loyal to their masters and tigers often attack their owners (often without warning). They were all wild once but, what is it about dogs that we were able to tame but failed to do so with tigers or any other exotic animal for that matter?Pytanie #47:
I'm Curious Atheists.?
1) Would you willingly lower yourself to a status of an animal?2) What happened with the fingerprints? Coincidence should have made at least ONE mistake!!!
3) What is your purpose in life? Do you have goals to reach, and what do you feel like when you know you are going to perish and nothing will be worth. I just want to know what it feels like to think that all your efforts have been wasted, because you die and according to your beliefs that its.

Do you ever think twice about Obama?

What's with the morons who always say "you built your house in the animals habitat."?
I have a mouse in my house, and I'm going to kill it. I pisses me off to no end having that worthless thing running around my room. It also pisses me off when I come across delusional freaks who say things like that. Do they no realize humans are animals also? Do they no realize that we didn't arrive (as a species) on this planet in an uninhabited piece of land where a housing complex was present? Do they not realize that nature is our habitat too? Go invade an animals living space and see what happens. Hell, I'm so mad I'll probably burn the worthless thing alive. It's trapped in the room with me and it's not getting out alive.** Powered by Yahoo Answers
